Have you ever asked yourself what can I do for humanity? What is a career that will never go away? Where can I be useful? Questions like these begged to be answered and the Word can give insight to the matters of life. Look at Matthew 26:11 “For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.” Also look at Deuteronomy 115:11 “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.” Not only does Scripture tell us what we can do it also tells us to whom we can do it for. While working with the poor my not be a career for each of us, it certainly can be part of our ministry. It is a group of people that the church will always have opportunity to minister to. Sadly enough, some look down on this population and miss a great opportunity to reach out and to share the gospel.
