Why was heaven and hell created? Matthew 25:34 & 41 holds the answer (please take time to read the whole passage though Matthew 25:31-46).  Jesus says in Matthew 25:34 & 41 ” Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world…Then shall he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire; prepared for the devil and his angels.” Did you catch what was said? Heaven the Kingdom of God was prepared for man and Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. So, the question becomes not what the will of God is, the verse clearly show His will in creation of Heaven and Hell; but rather how does one join those on the right hand or the left hand? I Peter 3:9 goes on to say “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Repentance is the key here. God gave us the opportunity to be reconciled to Him through the atoning blood of Christ, you may grieve Him and reject Him or you can repent and accept Him. God’s will is that none of us perish in a Devil’s hell but that we would enjoy the blessing of the Father in heaven. So the ultimate question is are you willing to repent to join God’s will for your life or are you going to rebel and join the devil’s hope for your life?
