As we continue on in our discussion of who Jesus is; let’s take a look at John 8:36: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Jesus is the Son that is referred to in this passage. One must ask though free from what? You are free from sin (see John 8:34). Sin has no more dominion over you if you are a Christian. Will you sin? Yes. Must you sin because you are slave to it? No. The Son gives you fredom from that bondage. Remember that freedom the next time you are struggling with doing wrong. As a Christian you do not have to.
