Remember when God was commissioning Moses to lead the people out of Egypt? Moses let God know (Side thought: why do we always need to TELL God the way it is, does not He already know?) that he was slow of speech. I love the Lord’s response in verse 11 and 12 of Exodus 4 “And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.”
God reminds Moses that He made him and everyone else that had “conditions” or not. In other words…I know about it Moses. Then God continues to commission him by telling him to go. Then the amazing happens that I think we take for granted today: God told Moses that He would be with Moses’ mouth. God was going to be with Moses and identified with the weakness that Moses so declared. Not only did God say he would be with Moses, but that He would also TEACH Moses what to say. Sometimes, us ladies have a tendency to focus on our weakness as Moses did and not to acknowledge God our teacher. I wonder what word lessons God would have taught Moses, if he only took Him upon His offer?
