Remember growing up and hearing from peers a request for you to do something with them, because after all “everyone was doing it”.  The thing they were trying to get you to do was at best something your parents did not want you to do and at worst it was flat out sin.  I used to think that was something that basically stopped after the teenage years, but no we still do it as adults.  Often it will sound something like, but everyone “believes” this way. We have a perfect example from Scripture in Acts 19:27  where there is the beginning of a riot in Ephesus because some people will possibly loose work if the Gospel is preached there. Demetrius says of the false goddess Diana “So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at naught: but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised and destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshipeth.”  did you catch that adult lie? Well “every one worshippeth”.  It was not a true statement, but rather a peer pressure type statement that was a lie.  We can see a small example of this on the evening news when they tell us how people believe and try to persuade us to believe likewise.  Be careful of the everyone does it statements.
