With Thanksgiving so close and all the feasting that goes on around the holidays, I can not help but think about Psalms 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” As you take your fork and sink it into a piece of pumkin, pecan, or sweet potato pie this holiday season can you say “O taste and see that the Lord is good”? See this implies that you have had an experience with the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you been engaged in life and felt His hand and experience His goodness? Tasting is not something you can do just by looking at the food on the table. You actually have to be involved in the eating of the food to taste that it is good. Salvation is the same way… you can not just know that Jesus Christ is Lord, you have to do something about this person of Jesus. Likewise the Christian life is the same way … you can not say that you have tasted and seen that the Lord is good until you have truly experienced Him. So, this Thanksgiving let us say “O taste and see that the Lord is good.”
