How wonderful sleep is! I think we appreciate it more when we have gone without it for a little while. In Genesis there is the recorded account of Jacob fleeing for his life to Haran. In this flight he stopped to sleep in Bethel. Genesis 28:16 states “And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.” What a sad commentary that any person could admit that they did not know that the Lord was in the very place that they were. BUT praise God Jacob figured it out after having his dream! So what about you? Have you been sleeping and not knowing that God is in the very place that you are? Has your life circumstances; like Jacob, clouded the fact that God is there with you?
