Jonah 1:3 is very interesting. While Jonah was running from God he decided to travel in the opposite direction of where God told him to go. In this verse we see that it cost Him to run from God. Look closely, Scripture states that he paid the fare to get on the ship to flee from the presence of God. Running from God costs us something. When we do not give God a “yes”, it can cost us. It cost Jonah some cold hard cash. If you are running from God or will run in the future, what will it cost you?
