We have spent some time in Jonah, and hopefully have had some important takeaways. Did you know that Jonah is mentioned elsewhere in the Scriptures? Go ahead and see it for yourself. Turn to 2 Kings 14:25. It is here we see that Jonah was given a message to deliver, a message to restore the border of Israel. This time it was a positive message that we have no record of Jonah bulking at, like he did in the book of Jonah. Are we not like Jonah? Finding perceived positive things to do, easy to do for God, and perceived negative things to do for God difficult? Remember that Jonah did not like the idea of the Nineveh people being given a message of redemption to prevent them from being destroyed. Maybe just maybe, we should all just learn to do and rest in the will of God, and not fret if we perceive the message as positive or negative.
