Knowing that Jesus was going to be betrayed, John asks a very curious question… who is going to betray you? Christ’s answer comes and I do not think it is what the John was expecting. Jesus basically tells him to mind his own business and just follow Him. What is it to them who will betray Jesus, their job was to follow Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less. But why oh why when we need to mind our own business does the gossip wheel start? Look at verse 23 closely, the saying spread and it did not take long for the message to become something that it was not. Failure times two: did not mind their own business and started the gossip wheel a spinning. Whose business are you minding, today?
