I know many people who define love as what you can do for me or by Hollywood’s portrayal of sexual love.  This saddens me much.  The scriptures tell us that God is love (I John 4:8), and what is more exciting is that scripture also gives a glimpse of what true love is.  We read in John 3:16a “For God so loved the world, that He gave…”  Love gives. Love does not demand and say give me or give me now.

As we enter this Christmas Season may we be mindful that there are many around us who do not understand that God gave them a gift.  There are some that know that God gave a gift to everyone, but have not accepted the gift for themselves.  Then there are those who know about the gift and have accepted that gift.  If you have accepted the gift are you passing that gift around or are you hoarding the gift to yourself?  Remember love gives.

If you do not know about the gift I am referring to: it is that God gave “His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).  Want to know more about this gift?  Read the book of John, the book of Romans, or talk to your Christian friend, Pastor, or contact me.
