In the last verse of Jonah 4 we see the spiritual lesson that the Lord has been patiently trying to teach Jonah. It is a question that needs no initial response from Jonah or us, as the answer is obvious. God cares about people and there was 12,000 people in Nineveh that needed intervention from God. Go ahead and read Jonah 4:11. It really begs the question who do we care about enough to change the trajectory of their lives? Jonah did not want to go to this group of people in Jonah 1, reluctantly went in Jonah 3, and complains about it in Jonah 4… but God cared for Jonah’s heart and the people of Nineveh.
