Take a look at Jonah 4:7-9. Here we see following on the heels of God’s compassion of providing shade for Jonah, we see Him trying to draw Jonah’s heart. God brings another situational lesson for Jonah, as he did not seem to learn from the first situation. Situation 1 Jonah had no gratitude for the Nineveh people. Situation 2 he no longer has gratitude for the shade that he once had, only contempt and anger that he does not have it now (sounds like Jonah might have been a tab bit selfish). Through these lessons Jonah’s heart has not changed. What situation is God bringing into your life to teach you a lesson?
