If you have been a Christian for any length of time and shared your faith with others you have heard people make statements like: “Everyone is going to heaven because God is too loving to send anyone to hell”. While it is true that God is too loving to send anyone to hell, because He loved us He gave us His Son who is our ticket out of hell.  If we do not accept His gift then we have said no thank you to heaven. He has done what He can do to keep us from a place called hell.

But it is not true that everyone is going to heaven. Look at two passages in the book of John.  In John 7:33-34 Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees who did not believe in Jesus Christ and said “Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.  Ye shall seek me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come”  Jesus was sharing that He would return to the Father in heaven and they could not go there.

Now look at John 14 Jesus is speaking to His disciples that believe in Him.  Look what Jesus says in verses 2-4 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”  What a different picture just 7 chapters later in the gospel of John.  Now, Jesus says to the believers you know the way to heaven.

So, here it is yet another example of some going to heaven and others not.  Which group are you in? Which group are your loved ones in?
