Do you remember the story of the first martyr? In the middle of being stoned Steven cries out an act of forgiveness. See Acts 7:60 “And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” I read that and say Wow!! I do not know if I could do that. Then it hit me, no I could not, nor could Steven. Quickly lets read Acts 7:55 “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.” Did you catch how Steven could forgive? It was because he was filled with the Holy Ghost. He was able to forgive because he was filled with the Holy Ghost. I hear people say I can not forgive that person for what they have done to me. Good you are on the right track, now go forgive because of who lives within you the comforter the Holy Spirit (John 14:16).
