Colossians 2:1 I have taken a fondness to this verse. Here Paul is talking about those that live just about 10 and half miles west of Colosse (to whom he was writing this letter). He was concerned for Colosse and her neighbors. He was concerned that the neighbors, many of which have not even seen him, would be encouraged to see and attain the fullness of God and Christ. If they could be encouraged to attain this, they would have access to the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. This is during a time when the pursuit of knowledge and philosophy was great. He wanted even the neighbors to know God, and not just the philosophy of the day (verse 8). Sometimes, I wonder how bad we want our neighbors to know the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Or do we even view the Bible and our relationship with God and Christ as something that valuable to share?
