Colossians 1:23-29 with a focus on verses 23 and 28. Notice in verse 23 it says if we continue in faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, but what is missing is the then clause; as in if…then. From verse 23 all the way through 28 we see Paul explaining and showing his ministry to the people that enabled them to be grounded and settled. It is not until the end of verse 28 that I see the “then” clause: that we may present others as perfect in Christ. In other words that we have led someone to Jesus and they accepted Jesus. How does that happen… by us hearing the Word and continuing in the faith ourselves and staying grounded and settled. There is no other way folks. Are we going to stay grounded and settled so others have a chance of accepting this gospel. Living one way on Sunday and another the rest of the week just does not cut it. Nor does not studying the Word, so we can be grounded. Grounded and settled is where I would like to be in my faith, how about you?
