Sometimes I like to substitute my name in Bible verses for the names that are there to question or to understand a point a little better.  As little kids some of us where told John 3:16 by substituting our names for the word “world”. This is kind of the same thing I am going to do with today’s verses.

For today’s text let’s look at the words of Christ in John 21:15,16, & 17.  “Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me more than these?…Feed my lambs…Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me?…Feed my sheep…Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me?…feed my sheep”. For me it then reads Tanya, daughter of Charles, lovest thou me?…Feed my lambs.  Now this verse comes to life for me.  I know I can substitute my name in this verse for Simon because Mathew 28:20 commands me and you to teach others of Christ, which is feeding the lambs. The question then becomes do I love Christ enough to feed His Lambs?
